The Boston-based Celtic punk band the Dropkick Murphys cancelled a show in Tulsa last month after their tour bus struck and killed a pedestrian in Texas.
En route to Oklahoma, the tour bus struck and killed 23-year-old Dalton Lane Clark just north of Austin. The family of Mr. Clark believes that he was attempting to cross Interstate 35, and that the collision was an accident. The driver of the bus was not cited for striking Mr. Clark.
The band took to its social media accounts to acknowledge the accident, and offer condolences to the family. The bands Facebook page posted a message stating that they would not be continuing on to the show in Tulsa. As much as it pains us to miss a show and we truly apologize for it, wed like to stop and acknowledge that a man has lost his life. Please keep him and any family he might have in your prayers.
A GoFundMe page was created to help raise money for Clarks fiancée and their young son. So far, the page has raised over $25,000 to help pay for funeral expenses and their sons college fund.
