Wreck on I-244 Takes Out Motorcyclist, Closes Interstate

Thursday at 12:30 p.m. a call came into the Oklahoma Highway Patrol of a motorcycle wreck on I-244, where a rider was involved in an accident in a northbound lane of I-244.
The cyclist, a 29-year-old, was riding as part of a funeral procession when he attempted to take an on-ramp onto US-75 at a high rate of speed, causing him to lose control and crash his bike on the interstate.
According to the police report, he missed the curve of the on-ramp and went off the road, flying approximately 36' away from the motorcycle. Officers reported that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and is currently in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
